Your Entrepreneurship Story

Perhaps the only time I really could consider myself an "entrepreneur" is when I had a band in high school. I personally worked on our "concept pirate album" and promoted it around school, financing the recording and doing most of it myself. It was a very interesting time or sure, but this leading and financing of a product helped set me up for future endeavors, and I look back upon it as a great time that helped me grow as a person! Here is the "purposefully terrible" album art I designed for the project:

I enrolled in ENT 3003 mostly for the credit towards the innovation minor. However, all of the innovation classes have been interesting so far, so I'm hoping for a class that I can get something out of that will further my development and be helpful as I work towards my career. Working on projects and on assignments in these classes have been especially useful, and I'm hopeful that I'll get to have a similar experience in this course.

  1. Having a band in high school is great! I remember my high school had a whole array of bands who played 2 days a week during lunch time. I had friends in bands, some of whom still send me their new EP or singles. I think high school music bands make some great memories. It’s also a good way to develop yourself outside of class. Nice poster, BTW. Reminds me of the times when friends copy and paste my face into images to make inside jokes in our group chat.

  2. First of all, I just have to comment on your picture, which looks awesome. Secondly, ambitions are a great thing to have especially when you already know you have a knack for it. I think you should set yourself some personal goals I order of making them easier to achieve. Other than that, I think you are on the right track.

  3. It's so cool that you created your own band in high school! That was something I always wanted to do but I play piano, which isn't exactly a fit for a band (I didn't have a keyboard, and you can't exactly pick up a grand piano and take it with you to school). Your album art is hilarious- real meme material. I'm also taking this course for IA, and am also looking forward to a similar experience to past courses in the program!

  4. Danny, your experience financing your group’s album is very cool. It will likely provide you a basis for future opportunities when you are presented with something that you are quite interested in. I haven’t met any innovation minors, but I bet the course material in some of those classes are very interesting and will set you up for success in the future.
